Having assisted Bosnian families to settle into Blackburn in 1992, we also had the opportunity to meet the then president Alija Izetbegovic and the Grand Mufti of Bosnia, Mufti Mustafa Ceric.
In the year 2018, we got an opportunity to visit this beautiful Balkans country, with a delegation of scholars and well -wishers from Pakistan, India, South Africa and the UK. We spent 4 days in Bosnia visiting Sarajevo, Mostar and Srebrenica.
This year (2020), we decided to start working in Bosnia by initiating a `Widows Support Programme`. An amount of £200 was distributed by a local Bosnian organisation to widows and their families in Srebrenica and Mostar.
We intend to continue and expand our projects in the year to come IA.
Brothers and sisters are requested to keep our Muslim brothers and sisters of Bosnia in mind when distributing and donating their Zakaah, Sadaqah and Lillah donations.
So far, we have provided £200 each to 35 needy families. A very worthwhile and noble cause.
